Jake Leads #7 Seed Scarlet Past #10 Seed Mad River In Round 1 of the MVL Tournament

Jake Stanley struck out 15 batters as the starting pitcher led Troy Scarlet past Mad River MS Indians 10-0 on Thursday at Duke Park. Jake Stanley allowed zero hits and zero runs over six innings while walking none.

 

Troy Scarlet was the first to get on the board in the second when Jack Williams doubled, scoring one run. Troy Scarlet added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when one run scored on a dropped third strike, and Jack Williams grounded out, scoring two runs.

 

Jace N took the loss for Mad River MS Indians. The righty went four innings, giving up seven runs on seven hits, striking out four and walking three. Troy Scarlet piled up 11 hits in the game. Jack Williams seized on their opportunities, leading Troy Scarlet with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. He went 2-for-3 on the day. Jack Williams, Jake Stanley, and Kellan Miller each collected two hits for Troy Scarlet. Jake Stanley, Ian Westenheide, and Jaxson Frey each stole multiple bases for Troy Scarlet. Troy Scarlet ran wild on the base paths, amassing 13 stolen bases for the game.
